    United States

Chain laws vary from state-by-state. Some states do not have chain laws at all, while others can invoke emergency declarations that overrule state statute. AutoSock is the only textile traction device approved in all 50 states. In the US, AutoSock is approved in every state with chain laws with weights even beyond 10,000 lbs (they are used on semis regularly) all the way up through five plus axel vehicles.

    Canada

AutoSock may be used in all Canadian provinces. As for British Columbia, B.C. has weight restrictions that allow AutoSock use up to 11,794 KG GVWR when chain lights are on. A vehicle over 11,794 KG would be required to use chains if the chain lights are illuminated, under the weight restrictions AutoSock is accepted as equivalent to chains. If chain lights are not illuminated, AutoSock may be used without any weight restrictions throughout B.C..
